How to Connect Wix to Salesforce: Options for NZ Small Businesses

Avinash Vatsya· Salesforce Consultant, SaaSKool · 12+ years on the platform31 July 20268 min read

Your Wix site collects enquiries, orders and bookings all day; the question is whether they reach Salesforce while the person is still interested. There are four realistic routes: Wix's enterprise-only native integration, an automation platform like Zapier or Make, a free embedded Salesforce form, or a custom Velo build. Here is how they compare, with verified mid-2026 details.

Why Bother Connecting Them

Ask yourself one question: when someone fills in your website contact form, how long until a salesperson sees it? If the answer involves a shared inbox, the honest number is often "tomorrow" or "never". Every manual step between a Wix form and your CRM costs response time, and response time is the one lever every small sales team can actually pull. The same goes for Wix Stores orders and bookings: if they never land in Salesforce, your CRM view of each customer is missing the part where they gave you money.

The good news is that this is one of the cheaper integrations you can do. The options range from free to a few hundred dollars a year, not thousands.

The Four Realistic Options

Wix's Native Integration: Real, but Enterprise-Only

Wix does have a first-party Salesforce integration, and it is genuinely good: Wix's help centre describes automations that send form submissions, store orders, bookings and event registrations straight to Salesforce, mapped to the contact, lead, account or order you choose, using Salesforce API version 61.0.

The catch is in the article's title: it is an enterprise solution. You connect it through Manage Apps with the help of your enterprise success manager, which means it is only on the table if you are on a Wix Studio enterprise agreement. Most NZ small businesses are not, so for most readers this option is a "nice to know it exists" rather than a plan.

Zapier and Make: The Practical Default

For everyone not on an enterprise plan, an automation platform is usually the answer. Zapier's Wix connector triggers on form submissions, new or updated contacts, placed orders, abandoned checkouts, bookings and event registrations, and its Salesforce side can create leads, contacts or any other record. Make offers the same pairing with 25 Wix modules and deeper Salesforce controls, at a lower price and with a slightly steeper learning curve.

The patterns that earn their keep in small NZ orgs:

  • Form submitted on Wix creates a Lead in Salesforce, assigned to the right owner, with the form answers on the record.
  • Wix Stores order placed updates the matching Account or Contact, so sales conversations start from what the customer actually bought.
  • Booking made creates an Event or Task, so follow-up is scheduled rather than remembered.

The limits are the same as for any automation platform: these are event-based flows, one record at a time. They will not backfill history, and free-plan quotas (100 tasks a month on Zapier, 1,000 credits on Make) are trial-sized, not production-sized. Budget US$9 to US$20 a month for real volume.

The Free Route: Embed a Salesforce Web-to-Lead Form

Salesforce has a built-in answer for the narrow job of capturing enquiries: Web-to-Lead. In Setup you pick the fields, Salesforce generates form HTML, and you embed that code on your Wix site. Submissions create leads directly in your org, no middleware, no subscription.

We like this route for businesses that are watching every dollar, but go in with open eyes:

  • It captures new leads only. It will not update existing records or sync orders and bookings.
  • The generated form is plain HTML; making it look like the rest of your site is your job.
  • So is spam protection. An unprotected lead form will find its audience of bots quickly.

Custom Builds: Velo Plus the Salesforce API

Wix's developer platform, Velo, can talk to Salesforce directly, and Wix publishes an official Salesforce Integration package that can query, create, update and delete Salesforce records from your site's backend code. Under the hood it uses the jsforce library, with credentials stored in Wix's Secrets Manager.

This is the right route when the packaged options genuinely cannot express what you need: multi-step logic, lookups against Salesforce before the visitor submits, or writing to several related records at once. Two honest caveats. First, you are now maintaining code. Second, the package authenticates with a username, password and security token; it works, but when we build custom integrations we prefer OAuth through a connected app, which is more setup and more robust. If you are weighing this route, it is worth a conversation before you commit development time.

The Edition Trap: Check This Before You Buy Anything

Except for the Web-to-Lead embed, every route above depends on Salesforce API access, and API access depends on your edition. Starter Suite has none, which rules out most third-party tools; on Pro Suite it is a paid add-on; from Enterprise Edition it is included. This catches NZ small businesses out constantly, so before you subscribe to anything, read our edition guide and NZ pricing guide, and confirm edition compatibility with the vendor in writing.

When Not to Integrate (Yet)

  • Your enquiry volume is tiny. If your site produces two enquiries a week, a forwarded email and a good habit cost nothing. Automate when volume, not novelty, demands it.
  • Nobody owns follow-up. An integration moves data faster; it does not create a sales process. Decide who works a new lead, and how quickly, before wiring anything.
  • Your CRM data is a mess. Piping new records into a duplicate-riddled org multiplies the mess. Do the cleanup first.

How We'd Choose

  • On a standard Wix plan, want leads in Salesforce this week: Zapier or Make on a starter paid plan. Under NZ$40 a month, no code.
  • Just enquiry capture, minimal budget: the Web-to-Lead embed, styled once, with spam protection.
  • On a Wix enterprise agreement: use the native integration; it is the cleanest path and you are already paying for it.
  • Complex requirements, several systems in play: design it properly. Our Salesforce integration service covers Wix alongside payment and accounting systems, and we have connected Stripe and Xero to the same orgs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect Wix to Salesforce? Four realistic routes: Wix's native Salesforce integration (available on Wix Studio for enterprise accounts only), an automation platform like Zapier or Make, embedding a Salesforce Web-to-Lead form on your Wix site, or a custom build on Wix's Velo development platform. For most NZ small businesses, Zapier or Make is the practical starting point.

Does Wix have a native Salesforce integration? Yes, but only for enterprise accounts. Wix's own Salesforce integration is set up with your enterprise success manager on Wix Studio, and its automations can send form submissions, store orders, bookings and event registrations to Salesforce. Standard Wix plans do not include it, which is why most small businesses use an automation platform or an embedded form instead.

Can I send Wix form submissions to Salesforce automatically? Yes. Zapier's Wix connector includes a trigger for form submissions, plus triggers for new contacts, placed orders, bookings and event registrations, and these can create or update Salesforce leads and contacts automatically. As at July 2026, Zapier's free plan covers 100 tasks a month with two-step Zaps; paid plans start at US$19.99 a month billed annually.

What is the cheapest way to connect Wix and Salesforce? Embedding a Salesforce Web-to-Lead form. Salesforce generates the form HTML in Setup, you place it on your Wix site, and each submission creates a lead directly in Salesforce with no middleware subscription. The trade-offs: it only captures new enquiries, the form needs styling to match your site, and spam protection is your problem.

Do I need a particular Salesforce edition to integrate with Wix? The automation and custom-build routes depend on Salesforce API access. Starter Suite has no API access, on Pro Suite it is a paid add-on, and from Enterprise Edition it is included. Before paying for any tool, check your edition and confirm compatibility with the vendor in writing.
