Salesforce Winter '27 for Nonprofits and Schools: Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP and Education Cloud

Prerna Singh· Salesforce Consultant, SAASKOOL7 September 20269 min readLast updated 8 September 2026

Nonprofit Cloud is now Agentforce Nonprofit and Education Cloud is Agentforce Education. The Winter '27 Nonprofit notes hold six feature pages plus one setup page, and NPSP is not mentioned once. The changes most charities will feel first are platform-wide: profile filtering, the email verification exception, and Microsoft's Exchange Web Services retirement for Outlook users.

What do the renames mean for a Power of Us org?

The Winter '27 Industries release notes say: "Nonprofit Cloud is now Agentforce Nonprofit, although you'll still see references to Nonprofit Cloud in Salesforce applications and documentation." The same page introduces "Agentforce Education (formerly Education Cloud)". Feature pages still say "Nonprofit Cloud" and "Education Cloud" in their Where lines, so below we use whichever name the cited page uses. No licence change is stated.

As at September 2026 Salesforce's Power of Us help article still offers 10 Enterprise Edition licences, as either Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud) or Sales and Service, and says there is "no requirement to migrate to our latest offering Agentforce Nonprofit (AFNP), formerly called Nonprofit Cloud, until they are ready." Not applied yet? Our Power of Us guide covers eligibility, including for New Zealand charities.

What is actually new in Nonprofit Cloud?

Not much. The Winter '27 Nonprofit landing page lists four child topics and six feature pages (three under Fundraising, one under Program and Case Management, two under Grantmaking) plus one Salesforce Go setup page; its August 2026 change log reads "No changes since the initial publication." Editions are from each page's Where line as at September 2026.

FeatureEditions per Where lineAdd-on?Who benefits

Create Households for Person Accounts During Gift Entry and Automatically Generate and Maintain Household NamesEnterprise, Unlimited, Developer of Agentforce Nonprofit and Agentforce EducationYes: "Automatic Household Creation and Naming add-on"Fundraising teams

Household naming is the Nonprofit Cloud answer to NPSP's long-standing household naming, but as an add-on: ask your account executive before promising it.

Also note what is not there: no Volunteer Management item, no Outreach item, no Outcome Management feature (only the setup page mentions it), no nonprofit-specific Agentforce agent, and no Data 360 or Marketing item under Nonprofit. Education has a full "Agentforce for Education" section; Nonprofit has no equivalent.

What about NPSP orgs?

Neither "NPSP" nor "Nonprofit Success Pack" appears on the Winter '27 Industries landing page, the Nonprofit landing page, its four child topics or its six feature pages. The notes cover Agentforce Nonprofit, the Salesforce-built product, not the managed package.

That silence is not a retirement notice. What Salesforce says, as at September 2026: its managed packages page states "NPSP is used by thousands of organizations and will continue to be supported." Trailhead's NPSP module states "As of December 2025, NPSP is no longer offered as a preconfigured package in production orgs." The Power of Us help article says NPSP "remains fully supported" but "is no longer receiving direct development of features or enhancements", which Salesforce calls "End of Innovation". No official page we found dates that phrase.

Everything platform-wide still applies: NPSP sits on Enterprise or Unlimited Edition, so every release update below lands on your schedule too. For the longer-term question, see Nonprofit Cloud vs NPSP.

What changes for schools and tertiary providers?

The Education notes are larger: 23 titles. The useful split is what the Education Cloud licence alone unlocks versus what needs more. Licences are per each page's Where line as at September 2026.

ItemLicences per Where lineNote
Attendance data modelEducation CloudOne trusted attendance outcome per student

Student Recruitment AgentEducation Cloud, Einstein for Education Cloud, Data 360, Agentforce add-ons; from September 2026Built by a coding agent "such as Agentforce Vibes or Claude Code"

A school with one admin should start with the first three rows; everything from the funnel dashboard down needs an account executive conversation first. For the wider picture, see our guide for schools and education providers.

What changes for your portals?

Four Winter '27 items touch Experience Cloud portals.

  1. Experience Delivery (Beta) is discontinued for LWR sites as of October 2026; the note says "we recommend that you republish your site". Only relevant if you turned the beta on.
  2. Conceal Personal Information Fields from Guest Users is a release update; "Salesforce enforces this update in Spring '27" per its release note. A separate Guest_PersonalInfo_EPIM field set lets public visitors see less than portal users, and a new warning icon in the Guest User Sharing Rule Access Report flags fields that may expose personal information. Run that report now if you have a public donation or event page.
  3. Site email. Email Domain Substitution is off by default; without it, "Salesforce suppresses email sent on behalf of a user with an unverified email domain." A verified secondary sender can carry Forgot Password emails.
  4. Stable target host name. If your custom domain uses "Use a third-party service or CDN to serve the domain", Salesforce recommends updating the target host name "before your next org migration".

Portal or custom build? See Experience Cloud vs custom portal.

Which platform-wide changes will a charity admin feel first?

None of these are nonprofit features, but they reach every Power of Us org.

  • Profile filtering is enforced in Winter '27 (first available Summer '26); its Where line includes Enterprise. Users see only their own profile name unless they hold View All Profiles, which the release note says to assign "before this release update is enforced." Check flows, validation rules and reports that reference profile names.
  • Email verification. The Adopt Authorized Email Domains update our July post listed has been cancelled and "replaced by the Maintain Your Email Verification Exception update." The replacement appears only where Salesforce Support previously disabled email verification; "Salesforce enforces this release update on December 1, 2026", after which unverified users "can't send email from Salesforce." Set Require Address Verification to Send Email on each authorised domain.
  • Outlook users. If Einstein Activity Capture syncs with Microsoft 365, upgrade to Microsoft Graph before Microsoft retires Exchange Web Services in October 2026, per the release note; user-level OAuth users must reconnect.
  • Timing. Per Salesforce Trust maintenance data as at September 2026, every Australian-hosted production instance upgrades on Saturday 10 October UTC (for New Zealand readers, 04:00 to 08:30 NZDT on Sunday 11 October). Confirm yours on Salesforce Trust.

Is there anything in Data 360 or Marketing for a small charity?

Little that a ten-licence org will use. Data Cloud was rebranded to Data 360 on 14 October 2025 per the Data 360 notes, and features "are released as often as monthly". Build a Segment by Describing It lists Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer editions but runs from the Data 360 Segments page, so it needs Data 360 already. We found no free Data 360 tier for CRM customers on any Winter '27 page; do not budget on one. Marketing Cloud Next (also known as Agentforce Marketing) lists consent updates through a record-triggered flow and preference-page customisation; confirm the Where line before planning on them.

How can SAASKOOL help?

Three things we already do: fixed-price nonprofit packages that include Nonprofit Cloud or NPSP setup for Power of Us orgs, Power of Us application support for eligible charities at no cost, and release readiness (the updates and reports above) as standing work in managed services. Schools and tertiary providers can start at our education page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nonprofit Cloud being renamed in Winter '27? Yes. The Winter '27 Industries release notes state that "Nonprofit Cloud is now Agentforce Nonprofit", and Education Cloud is now Agentforce Education. Feature pages still use the old names in Where lines; no licence change is stated. The Power of Us help article, as at September 2026, names the donated bundle Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud).

Does Winter '27 include anything for NPSP? No. Neither "NPSP" nor "Nonprofit Success Pack" appears on the Winter '27 Nonprofit landing page or any child page. Salesforce's managed packages page says NPSP "will continue to be supported", and Trailhead says "As of December 2025, NPSP is no longer offered as a preconfigured package in production orgs." Platform-wide release updates still apply to NPSP orgs.

Do the new household creation and naming features come with Nonprofit Cloud? Not on their own. Both Winter '27 fundraising pages apply to Enterprise, Unlimited and Developer editions of Agentforce Nonprofit and Agentforce Education "with the Automatic Household Creation and Naming add-on". Confirm the add-on is on your contract before promising automatic household names to the fundraising team.

What should a school on Education Cloud look at first? The three items whose Where lines name only the Education Cloud licence: the attendance data model, the proxy portal template for parents and guardians, and emergency contacts with authorised pickups. Tuition payment plans also need Revenue Cloud Advanced and Revenue Cloud Billing, and the Attendance Management Agent lists seven licences and add-ons, so treat those as purchases.

When does Winter '27 reach nonprofit orgs, and what should we check first? Per Salesforce Trust data as at September 2026, Australian-hosted production instances upgrade on Saturday 10 October UTC, the early hours of Sunday 11 October in New Zealand; confirm yours on status.salesforce.com. Before then, check profile filtering (enforced Winter '27), the email verification exception if it appears in Release Updates (enforced 1 December 2026), and the guest-user personal information update for any public site (enforced Spring '27).
