Getting Online Donations Into Salesforce: Raisely, Funraisin, Givealittle, GiveNow, Donorbox and Fundraise Up Compared
The best way to get online donations into Salesforce depends on the platform. There are four routes: a native connector (Funraisin, GiveNow, Donorbox and Fundraise Up), a MoveData subscription (Raisely, or Funraisin once you outgrow its own sync), a Zapier flow, or a CSV import, which as at September 2026 is the only route Givealittle offers.
What is the best way to get online donations into Salesforce?
The route that lands each gift on the right object, attached to the right donor, with nobody re-keying it; the platform decides that, not Salesforce. In NPSP, "Donations are called Opportunities in Salesforce." In Nonprofit Cloud, renamed Agentforce Nonprofit in Winter '27, a one-off gift is a Gift Transaction and a regular gift is a Gift Commitment whose schedule creates the transactions.
The four routes: a native connector built by the platform (Funraisin, GiveNow, Donorbox, Fundraise Up); MoveData, a subscription service that builds NPSP or Nonprofit Cloud records for platforms without one (Raisely, Grassrootz, GoFundraise, Funraisin); Zapier, where Salesforce is a Premium app needing a paid plan and you design the mapping yourself; and a scheduled CSV import. A custom build on the platform's API sits behind all four; for card payments taken directly, see our Stripe to Salesforce guide.
Which donation platforms connect to Salesforce natively, and which need MoveData, Zapier or a custom build?
Donorbox, Fundraise Up and Funraisin have native connectors for both data models (Funraisin's is one way and hourly), GiveNow has a native NPSP-only connector, Raisely relies on MoveData, and Givealittle publishes none, as at September 2026.
| Platform | Salesforce route | NPSP | Nonprofit Cloud | What it creates | Recurring gifts | Platform fee as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Raisely | MoveData; free Zapier app; open API | Via MoveData | Via MoveData | Contacts, Opportunities, Campaign Members, or Person Accounts and Gift Transactions | Recurring Donation or Gift Commitment with instalments | Free with donor tips, else 4% flat fee excluding tax |
| Funraisin | Native one-way sync, usually hourly; MoveData; webhooks, Zapier | Yes, household model | Yes, Person Accounts | Campaigns, Contacts or Accounts, Campaign Members, Opportunities or Gift Transactions | Recurring Donation or Gift Commitment, optional | Not published |
| Givealittle | CSV export only | No | No | Nothing; you import the CSV | Frequency column in the CSV | 5% including GST, plus 1.5% donor card fee |
| GiveNow | Native, Pro plan; Zapier as a bridge | Yes | No | Campaign per cause, Contact, Opportunity per donation | Child Campaign per regular donor | Pro plan 3.5%, no subscription |
| Donorbox | Native paid add-on; Zapier and API on Pro | Yes | Yes | Opportunity, Contact, Account, Campaign; gift objects by request | Plain Opportunities until switched on | Standard plan free, fees 2.95% to 3.95%; add-on $50 a month |
| Fundraise Up | Native, no additional cost | Yes | Yes | Contacts, Opportunities, Recurring Donations, or Accounts, Gift Transactions, Gift Commitments | Recurring Donation object; Gift Commitments | Not published; performance-based |
Raisely's help centre says "we've partnered with MoveData to build an out-of-the-box live integration with your Salesforce database". Funraisin's guide describes "a one-way sync from Funraisin to Salesforce that operates on a schedule", usually hourly, needing a Salesforce "user account with a non-expiring password", so plan a dedicated user; MoveData's Funraisin integration runs at 10-minute intervals. GiveNow's Pro-plan integration is NPSP only and "has limited customisation options and is not actively being developed". Fundraise Up exports to NPSP and Nonprofit Cloud in real time, with a separate import mode for donations recorded in Salesforce.
What does each integration create in Salesforce?
Record shapes decide what your reports can say. In NPSP a regular gift is a Recurring Donation that parents one Opportunity per instalment (monthly, quarterly, yearly or custom); orgs that installed NPSP before March 2021 may be on Legacy rather than Enhanced Recurring Donations. In Nonprofit Cloud the pair is Gift Commitment and Gift Transaction.
- MoveData. NPSP Opportunities with refunds, soft credits and general accounting units, Recurring Donations parenting the instalments, and Campaign Members; in Nonprofit Cloud, Gift Transactions and Gift Commitments.
- GiveNow. A cause becomes a Campaign; each regular donor gets a child Campaign, with one Opportunity per donation. NPSP's Recurring Donation rollups never see that donor.
- Donorbox. Recurring plans arrive as plain Opportunities until you switch on the Recurring Donations sync in the Donorbox dashboard, per its help centre article updated 27 August 2026, with a second toggle for Enhanced Recurring Donations. Nonprofit Cloud gift objects are enabled by request, with Opportunities still created alongside.
- Fundraise Up. Native NPSP objects including Recurring Donations, or Nonprofit Cloud gift objects; an existing Lead is converted to a Contact.
Our Nonprofit Cloud vs NPSP comparison settles the data model question first.
How do you stop duplicates and $0 registrations polluting donor reports?
Two layers of matching, tested in a sandbox. The connector matches first: Donorbox adds a gift to the existing Contact when first name, last name and email match, and creates a new Contact when the email matches but a name differs, so "Liz" and "Elizabeth" become two donors. GiveNow applies four name, phone and email rules in order. Fundraise Up relies on Salesforce duplicate rules keyed on email.
Salesforce is the second layer, and it ships switched off: NPSP "comes preconfigured with matching and duplicate rules. You just need to review and activate them", per Trailhead. Leave the standard rules alone; they match Contacts with Leads, which causes issues in NPSP Contact Merge.
The $0 registration trap is less documented. Event data reaches Salesforce from Funraisin (registrations map to Campaign Members, transactions to Opportunities), from Raisely via MoveData (Campaign Members) and from Donorbox, which creates one Opportunity per ticket and no Campaign Members; GiveNow excludes event and membership data. None of the pages we fetched says what a free ticket becomes, so check what a free ticket or $0 registration creates before go-live: a $0 Closed Won Opportunity inflates donor counts and average gifts and can fire receipting, while a Campaign Member alone is invisible to gift reports. Then write the filter (amount above zero, or a registration record type) into every donor report and the receipt flow.
What does it cost?
Platforms charge percentages, connectors charge subscriptions; figures are as at September 2026.
| Connector | Cost as published | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MoveData, single integration | NZ$329 a month, or NZ$279 a month paid annually | MoveData pricing, currency set to NZD |
| MoveData, unlimited integrations | NZ$499 a month, or NZ$449 a month paid annually | One subscription, several platforms |
| Donorbox Salesforce add-on | $50 a month, currency not stated | Pricing page framed in USD |
| Zapier | Paid plan, Professional upwards | Salesforce is a Premium app, unavailable on the Free plan |
| Fundraise Up | No additional cost | "No setup fees, no licensing fees, no contracts" |
| Funraisin native sync | Included; platform pricing not published | Needs a dedicated Salesforce user |
| GiveNow | In the Pro plan at a 3.5% platform fee | No subscription |
| Givealittle | No connector; 5% service fee including GST | CSV from My Givealittle |
Most registered charities run on the ten donated licences from Power of Us; a dedicated integration user such as Funraisin's needs a Salesforce licence of its own, so count it.
Can you chain donations through Salesforce to Xero?
Yes, and that is the shape we recommend: platform to Salesforce for the donor record and receipt, Salesforce to Xero for income and reconciliation. None of the six platforms publishes a direct Xero connector on the pages we fetched. Xero's NZ App Store collection for Salesforce lists ScaleXP, CarryTheOne, SFX Connect, Zapier, TwoCanConnect, Nettverk, Appy Pie Connect and Skyvia, and Zapier's Salesforce to Xero actions include Create Sales Invoice, Create Payment and Create Bank Transaction. Whether each gift becomes an invoice or a summarised bank transaction, and where GST sits, are design decisions; our Salesforce to Xero options guide compares the connectors and the Xero integration design guide covers what to sync and what breaks first.
What about Givealittle?
As at September 2026, Givealittle publishes no Salesforce integration, API or Zapier app on any help page we fetched. Its Charity Hub says you can download the "Donations CSV" from My Givealittle for a date range, its why-choose page says "Access your Donor & Fundraiser Database anytime with our CSV's which are easy to integrate to your CRM", and regular donors sit under a Frequency column.
So Givealittle is a monthly import routine: download the date range, match on email, load the gifts as Opportunities against a Givealittle Campaign, and log the payout net of the 5% service fee. Fine for a few pages a year; as a main channel, you will model regular giving by hand.
What do we recommend by charity size?
Small charities with one platform and a few staff. Pick a platform whose connector is included and covers your data model, and activate the duplicate rules before the first gift arrives. Fundraise Up and Donorbox cover both models; GiveNow suits NPSP orgs staying on NPSP.
Mid-sized charities running peer-to-peer or events on Raisely or Funraisin. On Raisely, budget for MoveData: the difference between an Opportunity per gift and Recurring Donations, Campaign Members, soft credits and refunds is a donations list versus a fundraising system. On Funraisin, test its own sync first, since it now maps regular donors and registrations natively, and move to MoveData when you need 10-minute syncs, soft credits or a mapping Funraisin cannot change.
Larger charities with several platforms or a Xero chain. MoveData's unlimited tier or a custom build on the platforms' APIs, designed around one contact-matching standard and one accounting handoff.
Where SAASKOOL fits: our nonprofit packages include one payment gateway integration at Impact and multi-system integration, including Xero, at Transform. Where a platform has no connector, or it cannot be reshaped to your data model, we build one as an unlocked package, as we did for Humanitix, so the mapping lives in your org. Only then do our Agentforce use cases for nonprofits become possible; no agent can fix a duplicate donor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Raisely integrate with Salesforce? Yes, through MoveData. Raisely's help centre says it has partnered with MoveData for an out-of-the-box live integration, and MoveData's Raisely page supports NPSP and Nonprofit Cloud in real time. Raisely also lists a free Zapier app and an open API with webhooks. There is no Raisely-built sync.
Does Givealittle connect to Salesforce? Not as at September 2026. Givealittle's Charity Hub describes a Donations CSV you download from My Givealittle and says the CSVs are easy to integrate to your CRM. None of the help pages we fetched mention a Salesforce integration, an API or a Zapier app.
Do these integrations work with Nonprofit Cloud as well as NPSP? Most do. MoveData (Raisely and Funraisin), Donorbox and Fundraise Up support both, and Funraisin's own sync now lists NPSP with household accounts and Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud). GiveNow's integration is NPSP only and does not currently support Nonprofit Cloud.
Will recurring donations come through as NPSP Recurring Donations? Only with some connectors. MoveData and Fundraise Up create NPSP Recurring Donation records with instalment Opportunities, and Funraisin's own sync can optionally map regular donors to Recurring Donations. Donorbox syncs recurring gifts as simple Opportunities until you switch on the Recurring Donations sync in its dashboard. GiveNow creates a child Campaign per regular donor with one Opportunity per payment.
What does MoveData cost? As at September 2026, MoveData's pricing page set to NZD lists a single integration at NZ$329 a month, or NZ$279 a month paid annually, and unlimited integrations at NZ$499 a month, or NZ$449 a month paid annually. Raisely's help article quotes an older $250 a month with no currency; use MoveData's page.
If your donations land as duplicates, plain Opportunities or a monthly spreadsheet, that is a defined piece of work. See our nonprofit packages or talk to us; we start with a free 60-minute call.
